Writing with Colors

by F.

Pro scribe John Rogers has a nice tip for using colors when writing. He discusses coding various parts of his comedy routines, but the same principle works for any kind of writing.

Black for Setup, Blue for Punchline. Green pen for structure notes, Red for edits. Always the same .05 Rollerball pens. That’s how I spent close to twelve years writing standup, in various notebooks. I never worked on my act on a computer. Ever. Amazing how one can channel OCD and a physics degree into creative pursuits.

Of course, you can do this with a word processor as well, such as Pages in iWork. The full post is at the always excellent Kung Fu Monkey.
