According to a recent study by Sandi Mann and Wincy Shek of the University of Central Lancashire,

About a third of all work communication involves some kind of deception….

But don’t worry—folks won’t lie to your face. That’s what e-mail is for:

Workers do not like lying to colleagues face-to-face and prefer the anonymity of the phone or e-mail, a study says.
