Inequality Here and Over There
I tend to agree with Tim Worstall:
globalization is increasing relative poverty in the rich countries, while at the same time abolishing absolute poverty in the poor ones. Put like that it seems quite clear to me that the price is worth paying, indeed, I would argue that anyone who disagrees simply isn’t a liberal, classical or otherwise.
More. Of course, there are other consequences of inequality here (in the U.S.), however slight, such as political backlash and passage of absurd laws, so maybe my knee jerk (classical) liberalism should be tempered with pragmatism.
